La Union Surf Beach, Philippines

I just got home from a long weekend surfing La Union.
I took the overnite bus from Manila and arrived at dawn ready for a surf.

There are waves here for every type of surfer....
from beginners on the inside to Monaliza reef out in deeper water.
The surf season is best from November through February.

An international destination I met surfers from Korea, Japan, Australia
and Europe. Even with all the competition the local Pinoys were the best surfers.

Just down the road in the town of San Fernando is the Ma Cho Temple.

Whenever I am in town I always go visit this place.
The peaceful beauty is a nice escape from hectic San Fernando.

The local Chinese built Ma Cho Temple in 1975.
The view from the top plus the cool ocean breeze are great!

As usual, I am the only visitor on this sunny day.
