Sugar Beach, Negros Island Philippines

          Welcome to the new Blog!
I ran out of storage space at the old site so check out my updated and redesigned travel blog now...
My Birthday is also a National Holiday here
 in the Philippines [Bonafacio Day].
Jelli and I planned an escape to Negros Occidental
 to celebrate the long weekend.
Following a 1 hour flight...a 5 hour bus ride..a 10 minute tricycle ride and
10 minutes on a pump boat we finally arrived at Sugar Beach.

This small island has no roads.
therefore no cars or motorcycles.
Everything, including the tourists arrive by boat.
This made for a peaceful destination for a long weekend.
Jelli took this one
Sunrise in Paradise
My Breakfast
The food at the resort next to ours was amazing..
especially considering all the ingrediants had to be carried to a boat
and brought to the island... then unloaded in the surf
and carried up the beach.
Dinner
Fresh fish and cold beer
Jelli organized a surprise birthday dinner complete with wine.
We grilled fresh dorado and shrimp with vegetables at our table....
Followed by birthday cake!
Thank You Jelli..what a wonderful surprise!
