Sambor Prei Kuk Temple Complex is the oldest known temple ruins in Cambodia. We rode the tuk tuk for an hour outside of Kampong Thom. Arriving at 7:00 am we were the only visitors on this hot day. |
The Temples date back to the 7th century. These are excellent examples of early Khmer stone carvings. These were completed some 150 years before Angkor Wat. |
Inside the Lion Temple. The lack of anything out here also allowed full access...so cool! |
The jungle is the old Temples biggest enemy. |
The Temples are spread out in three groups with jungle in between. An unmarked path connects the Temples. |
Keep checking back as I update more travel adventures from Cambodia. Next stop...Siem Reap! |
