Tacloban, Leyte Philippines November 2013

I just returned from 3 days in Tacloban Leyte Philippines.
I am a volunteer with The Ramon Tulfo Foundation.
I was there to shoot video and photos documenting The Foundations Medical and

Food Mission in the Tacloban area.
Here I am with Roger our security guard and his former Commanding Officer.
Roger served 5 years in The Philippine Army.
Im working on editing the video now.
A YouTube page will be setup tomorrow with video of our relief effort.
Ill post the link!
Ramon 'Mon' Tulfo formed this group of 40 doctors and nurses from Manila hospitals. Another 10 joined as a support team.
The group, along with several thousand kilos of medicine and food, flew from Manila at no charge thanks to Philippine Airlines.

The Philippine Military provided trucks and drivers to get us around the city.
Our mission was to bring medical and food relief to areas which have not received much aid.
We would drive to a neighborhood and set up in front of the Municipal Building.
A medical station would provide injections and other needed care to anyone who wandered over....babies to the elderly were treated.
Typical street scenes as we travel thru the different areas of Tacloban
Almost 2 weeks since the typhoon and the lack of government response can be seen everyday as we convoyed through the city.
We also set up a soup kitchen.
Cooking a noodle soup over a scrap wood fire in large metal pots.
We could feed several hundred locals a hot meal within a hour of setting up.

Here we are with a group of happy customers!

Macau Trip 2013

Traveling to Macau from Hong Kong is an easy 1 hour journey on the TurboJet high speed ferry.
$15 USD/one way.

Macau is all about casinos.
Here is the Venitian on The Cotai Strip.
Inside The Venitian
I was amazed to find a Fatburger inside The Venetian Resort.
The Veggieburger was exactly the same as The Fatburger in L.A....so good!

It was a long day of exploring ended with the fireworks behind the famous castle.
Next stop was Hong Kong Avenue of the Stars film set.
Hong Kong is a great city for walking, shopping and eating.
An interesting history and international flavor.

More Temples in Cambodia

The Temple of Bayon was built in the 12th Century.
This was the State-Temple of King Jayavarman VII.
Many of the 37 towers have the giant Buddha faces on the four sides.
The Temples and stone faces are in very good condition considering the age and environment.

Other nearby Temples are still awaiting a complete renovation.
More cool old Temples to explore.

Although mary were damaged over the centuries,
the stone carvings are still in very good condition.
Amazing detail can be found.
Keep checking back to see more travels...

The Children of Cambodia

Throughout Cambodia we met many friendly children.
In Phnom Penh we met this girl who taught me a few words in Khmer.

Some were selling local homemade handicrafts to the tourists.
Some were just hanging out eating mango.
They were clever and quick to smile when i made a joke.
